Lovely Today

Written on 22 December 2025. A slow Americana ballad, almost spoken, plain open chords and no ornament. The words carry it.
The title says lovely through gritted teeth. The bitterness is the armour and the cracks are the point. It was the first song I had written since before a fifteen-year relationship that ended for good in October 2025, and December was the floor. This was the push off it.
First voiced in July 2026. Played in public for the first time at the 10-7 during pre-event week of Burning Man 2026.
